Lifeline Offers Second Chances! Will You Join Us?
What comes to mind when you think of second chances? Do you suddenly recall that time when your professor gave you another try at that exam you failed the first time? Or maybe you immediately think about a mistake you made at work? Have you ever said something hurtful to someone you loved? Fortunately, life is full of second chances. Second chances come from situations we find ourselves in, from the people around us, but most and foremost, from our heavenly Father.
You see, our Lord is a God of second chances, and our own existence testifies to that. Ephesians 2:5 says “But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved”. How fascinating, and what a relief it is that Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross so that we may live, and that he did so freely. He does not ask us anything in return but simply offers us to join him in eternity.
This message of hope and love is at the root of Lifeline’s mission. Every day, with your help, we strive to serve our clients by meeting their material, emotional and spiritual needs. And lately, after much prayer and preparation, we have added one new service available to women in our community: abortion pill reversal.
Have you ever heard about the possibility to reverse a medical abortion after taking the first pill? If you haven’t, here is a little review. As you may know, a medical abortion consists of taking two pills. The first one (called mifepristone, or RU-486) blocks the woman’s natural progesterone that is necessary for pregnancy. As a result, the developing baby detaches from the lining of the uterus, before being expelled with the use of the second pill, misoprostol. But sometimes, women change their minds after taking the first pill and reach out to professionals, asking for an abortion reversal.
It is possible with the abortion pill reversal protocol. The bottom line is to give progesterone in the hope that this additional dose will outnumber and out-compete the chemical abortion pill. A 2018 study has shown a 64-68% success rate, but the woman has to start the protocol in the next 24 to 78 hours after taking the first abortion pill. By offering this service at no cost (like all Lifeline services), we extend hope to women desperately in need of a second chance. And this hope is increased by the fact that our Lord is a God of miracles. In order to be there for every woman who may reach out to us, we are committed to having staff on call all week, including on weekends. We will cover all subsequent prescription costs for the women initiating the treatment with your support.
